A while back i was given a gift of a bottle of Isle of Skye 8 year old blend from Ian Macleod. I had never had it before and decided to opened it last night although i have to say wasnt expecting much. I have to say that i was very pleasantly surprised. Sweet honey and vanilla intertwined with peat smoke, an excellent blend.

I had seen it hanging around the supermarket shelfs but never considered picking it up myself but i would now.

mmm Isle of Skye, i wonder which malt may have a big influence here. Question Smile

Isle of Skye is often missed by whisky drinkers, its a decent blend and a must try for those who like Islay whisky. Another 2 decent smoky blends are Black Bottle and Black Grouse which is very similar to Black Bottle IMO
