So if you had a spare 500 pound to spend on any whisky which would you buy and drink? Now it could be a 100 pounder or 300 but which in your view is worth the price and wouldn't be a regret..

Just recently bought a few £100+ bottles, all of which i have no hesitation in recommending Glenmorangie Signet, Glen Grant 18, Glen Moray 21 Portwood Finish, Glen Scotia 25, Bunnahabhain 25 and 18

Some good suggestions from James, I will add the Glencadam 18 to the list which i think is superb, I have tasted the Glencadam 25 which is also superb but I haven’t had a full bottle of the 25 but i would consider it if I was splashing out.

I'd probably steer away from the official bottlings and pick up something from one of the indies. Cadenhead currently have a 40 yr old single cask highland malt whisky for £450. Always bottled at cask strength, no chill filtering or added colour - the way it should be.

However, a bottle of Glenfarclas 25 yr old would be a nice treat despite being diluted to 43% and probably being filtered to within an inch of its life! Yours for just £250
