I'd be interested to know if anyone has tried the most recent batch of A'Bunadh. I bought a bottle at the distillery about 5 years ago after a tasting and fell in love with the bold, cask strength sherry bomb. I forgot to make note of the batch number of that one (I have a feeling it was 69 but wouldn't trust my memory). Off the top of my head I think it cost around £65 back then.
I've not bothered to buy another since that bottle was down to its last drop a couple of years back, despite enjoying it so much - mainly because it has been priced up around £90 to £100 which is a bit on the steep side for a whisky with no age statement. However, I have just spotted batch 84 at The Whisky Shop for £68 which tempted me enough to buy one.
When delivered, I'll give it a taste and come back on with my thoughts. In the meantime, please let me know yours if you have tried it already. Cheers |

Its exceptional. More refined than the Glenfarclas 105 - makes me.wonder if A'bunadh spends on average a bit longer in the sherry casks.
Drinkable without water, but for me its most delicious with just a teaspoon of water added and 10 mins or so in the glass. |

| I have had a few brilliant A'Bunadh's over the years and a couple not so great, £100 is a big ask for it, £68 isnt so bad though. I recall i used to pick it up from Oddbins on offer for £25 more than a few years ago now, some of the early releases were brilliant, i still have a few old bottles tucked away which i will get around to opening some day. |
