Good morning,

I am in the process of moving home and found at the back of my drinks cupboard an unopened bottle of McCallan - a 1981 sheery cask 18yr old. I remember buying it to save for a special occassion, but for some reason it has survived, and wondered if it might have some value. So looking online you see wild prices, daft prices to be honest, and I thought it best to seek an expert opinion.

The tube box is in near-perfect order with some small markings inside, some minor markings on the lid, and the bottle is mint condition. I have attached some pics for review.

I am thinking of emailing a couple of the Google results that come up, but to be honest, they could tell me anything, but my experience has taught me that enthusiast forums are more knowledgeable, reliable, and supportive.

Thanks for any help and steers offered, and if it holds value, any recommendations for places to approach.

Colin

Old bottles of the Macallan 18 year old can sell for crazy prices at auction these days, £2000 plus and sometimes over £3000 you can see some examples as well as sell it here https://www.scotchwhiskyauctions.com/auctions/all/?q=macallan+18+year+old+1981&search=a

Hope you get a good price.
