Hi,

I have been offered a very interesting and unique sounding package.

A friend of mine has had a private cask of a single malt, gotten 9 annual samples of 100 ml from the cask - and kept them unopened! Now he is offering me the chance to buy the samples and a 70 cl bottle of the finished 10 y.o. cask strength single malt.

I feel this would be rather unique opportunity to taste the "journey" through 10 years, but I have no idea what the value of such a pack would be. I don't want to insult - but don't want to lose an arm and a leg either.

I know "value" is very subjective, but would appreciate ideas and points of view.

Thanks!

Jacques

The value will very much based on the distillery it was produced and a unnamed distillery will not be valued as high. Do you know the distillery?

It is Bruichladdich on ex-bourbon cask.

It’s essentially just over 2 bottles of whisky, the OLDEST of which is 10 years old.

Work out how much you’d be prepared to pay for 2 bottles of 10 yo cs whisky.

Then add to that figure what ‘uniqueness’ value it is worth to you.

For me, £200 seems more than reasonable.
