I'm looking for a bottle of whisky to share with a few special people for my 40th. I was born in 1983. As it is to share and I was born in july I thought I should probably stay away from heavy peat. I have been considering something distilled in 1983, or an 18 year bottled in 2001 etc. If anyone has any suggestions of what to consider buying please let me know. I'm thinking of spending up to about £150 but would consider higher for the right bottle.
To give you an idea of my usual go to non peated I like old pulteney, aberlour, glen morangie, highland park (I know it's got a bit of peat smoke).
Thanks for any help you can offer.
