So I just received an email from a retailer about the Daftmill 2009 and their plans to sell it via a ballot. I missed out on this bottle before, so I was pretty excited until I saw they were charging £195.....horrid behaviour from a retailer.

We can all expect these prices at auction but for a retailer to hold back their allocation until everyone else has sold out is just taking the p***.

The Whisky Shop/Loch Fyne have been professionally flipping for a long time.

They are taking the ***, yes, but this is standard practice for them so *** 'em right in the eyehole.

As for holding back allocation until everyone else has sold out, I'm pretty sure TWE does this all the time with bourbon.

The ballot now says £110, so maybe they took some feedback onboard.

That's encouraging... I was expecting £95 so to see an Auction matching £195 whilst understandable, was disappointing.

Haha 195 and 110 are quite far apart on the keyboard...
