Went to dads house for Xmas and i looked for whisky to serve a family friend who came by to visit.

We aren't drinkers so there's nothing at hand to use- My dad told me to go to the garage and to look for a case where he keeps all the drinks he once had in his men cave's bar.

Found those old bottles he bought when he lived in France in the early 90's and i have no idea if they are worth keeping or i should just use them as common whisky.

As they are nearly 30 years old, i wouldn't want to mix them with coke and ice or give it to anyone if they happen to be of some decent worth.

Thanks for any help!

Well, I'm no whisky historian but a bit of digging around online would suggest to me that you're not sitting on anything worth a few bob really. The first bottle looks like an independent blend from Alexander & Dunn Co. and probably the more valuable of the two as Sir Edward's is a fairly generic Scotch whisky sold in France, which is a huge whisky drinky nation so I can't imagine a bottle from the 90s or even 80s being worth much today. The 12yr Alexander Dunn might be worth somewhere north of £50 for a collector maybe if you're lucky?

You might be best off trying to contact the company directly, but their contact details are a bit elusive, the company started off in Edinburgh but not sure if it's still there now, the only details I could find are in Berkshire: click here.
