| evening all, I hope you are all well? I'm looking for recommendations on what next to try, I have just tried Glengoyne 10 which was lovely, akin to the Glen 12 in my opinion. I also recently tried JW black which was surprisingly nice, Glen grant 10 was good too and as you may have seen on my previous thread I'm a HUGE fan of Glenlivet 12 , any good shouts I should consider next? |

| Hi benji, Kilkerren 12 was a nice drop, bushmills 10 in Sainsbury’s for £25 is also not bad for a good sipper, |

| Benromach comes to mind as I am drinking it tonight, the 10, 15 and cask strength expressions are all worth checking out. |

| Thanks Chaps, after watching Ralfy's whisky of the year 2020 film I think Deanston 12 may be next |

| Personally I think the Glengoyne 12 is superior to the Deanston anyway! Go for it, since it's a good price. |

| I’ve been enjoying some Ben Nevis 10 recently. My bottles are from a few years ago but huge sherry flavours and I’d wager some older stuff in here too. |

I don't know if benj mentioned this but IIRC from a previous thread he created asking for recommendations, his feedback on the more sherried whiskies like Fiddich 15 and Aberlour 10 was that they were too rich for his tastes, so it's no surprise he was let down a little by Bunnahabhain 12, and I would expect the same for the Stiuireadair and Glenfarclas 12 or any Glenfarclas tbh. I think focusing on more heavily Bourbon/Oak influenced whiskies or just whiskies that are heavy on the orchard fruit notes is the way to go.
Did you ever get round to trying Dalwhinnie 15 or Clynelish 14 benj? |

| Alexpp, I read your glengoyne 12 advice, tried a couple tonight, I agree it’s superior to the deanston 12 at first try👠|

It's strange, I used to recommend the Deanston a lot but a more recent bottle I bought has been below par - there's certainly more batch variation than I'd like, whereas the Glengoyne 12 has been very consistent over the years. |
