I like their Hills & Harbour gin..
This new make tasting and feedback is interesting concept but I can't justify the spend. Thanks for sharing. |

| Back in the day I got involved in a Founders Bond at Arran Distillery. Far more bang for your buck than this though! |

That is way to much for just some small bottles of New make. I would happily go down the road and buy another bottle of the new make from Cooper King distillery in York which is amazing by the way and keep some cash in my pocket thanks. |

You are getting 85 cl of new make for £189,
And as * goes this is a high roller of a statement to say the least, what a load of marketing guff.
`Your opinion, along with our own scientific studies will help us go much further than ever before to uncover the ‘holy grail’ formula of malted barley variety, yeast strain, fermentation length and process to ensure our new make spirit captures the maximum oily smoothness and rich flavours`
you are paying for the privilege of allowing them to re coup their initial outlay under the guise of finding the so called `holy grail` of whisky, along with their experts, even Dick Turpin wore a mask remember, do people actually believe this sort of rubbish? _________________ Pour me a glass please. |

I recently joined the White Peak Distillery Temperance Club after trying their new make for free at a club tasting - along with some very esteemed other new makes like Waterford and Daftmill. It was an interesting exercise and really worth it.
White Peak stood out as a flavour profile I liked and also enjoyed the passion the rep from the Distillery talked about it.
The Temperance Club 10 (5 is sold out) is £690, you get 70cl bottles of 1 year spirit, 2 year sprit right away then a bottle a year, each a year old of the Single Malt Whisky starting in 2021 for the remainder of the 10 years - so another 7. And a fre tour + 3 guests a year. And a invite to a yearly gathering. And a generic 10% discount at the shop. And you name on a Brick. That's how you make a founders type club worthwhile.
By the way, they sell their New Make as does Bladnoch if you're desperate to have New Make :D |

Wonder if anybody remembers the Arran launch. Maybe about mid 1990's.
£450 got you 5 cases of Lochranza blend after 3 years (not Arran whisky) then 5 cases of Arran malt after, I think, 6 years. Plus duty. It still worked out pretty cheap though.
The original pitch was saying you could leave the malt in the warehouse for as long as you wanted, at a price, but they were pretty desperate to punt it out when it came to the bit. |

| The White Peak Temperance Club membership seems a decent value for money, I opted for the 5 year about a month ago. Already received 3 bottles from them and finished 2 of those... |

I was being very sarcastic in my OP. Robbery of the highest order. |

| I'm in two founder memberships one with the Lakes Distillery at the time I thought five hundred pounds was a lot of money but you get a bottle a year for ten years which ends on a ten year old single malt. They have done a fantastic job with the packaging and the collection at the end will be very nice. The distillery itself has gone from strength to strength in recent years and I'm proud to be part of it. If your looking at it investment wise hmm it's a risk but one worth taking just be careful which distillerys you choose. Some would say you could of just picked a five hundred pound bottle and kept that for ten years the right one that would go up in price but it's more fun doing the founders as you feel a part of that distillerys journey. As I said just make sure you pick the right package and distillery. |
