|
|
Greetings all,
I was hoping someone may be able to recommend a new bottle. I've been drinking single malt now for a few years and have tried almost all the standard 10 - 12 year old bottlings. Glencadam 10, Kilkerran 12 and Glenallachie Cask Strength 10 being my favourite.
Unfortunately I find myself being less and less impressed with entry level bottlings and was hoping to spend a little more next month on something special.
I live in the north of Scotland and am looking at spending around £100. Preferably I'd like something with an age statement, perhaps cask strength, maybe even an independent bottler?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
All the best,
J

Core range - Glenallachie 15. Such good value. Very flavoursome.
Bottle your own Tomatin. There should be 2 under £100 and they are stellar, cask strength and aged. Olorosso and Virgin Oak I think in your price bracket.
Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength has been very available in this year's batch if you fancy peat and TCP turned up to 11.
Quite a lot of last year's BenRiach cask strength batch 15 available still from MoM and Amazon. _________________ Inverness Whisky

Glencadam 21.
46%, non chill filtered, natural colour, under £100. And it's freaking delicious. |

| Do you need to spend £100? If not, why not try a Springbank 10 or 12 if you haven't had that before? |

Yes, agreed but the average price is £120-£140 unless you can get it at special offer?
Benromach 15 is a cheaper option, worth considering? _________________ Pour me a glass please. |

Just wanted to say thanks for all the recommendations!
I think I'll be going with The Glencadam 21 as the 10 is probably my favourite whisky at that price point and I've never had anything that age before.
I'll definitely be looking into getting some of the others later in the year.
Thanks again for the great advice.
