We rarely see an official, original distillery, single cask bottling from the Isle of Jura distillery but that is exactly what the island distillery owners Whyte & Mackay has just generously bottled to be auctioned off to raise funds in aid of the Scottish mental health charity - Scottish Association for Mental Health. The Jura Distillery Cask, a 19 year old Single Cask No. 1708 which produced 470 bottles will be auctioned via the Whisky Auctioneer website.

It will be interesting to see what this goes for at auction with 470 bottles available, I will try for a bottle if it doesn't go too high.

I signed up for updates, there is a lot of bottles in the auction Andy so the pricing may not go too high, I do fancy a bottle myself, a single cask, cask strength 19 year old Jura is certainly different to what is available form Jura and there older stuff can be very good in my experience.

Glenfiddich recently had a charity auction for their Spirit of Speyside bottling (a 12 year old sherry butt) and I thought the same thing - as there are 400 odd bottles, then the price shouldn't be too high! Unfortunately this was not the case...the cheapest was around £250 so I won't hold out much hope for this bottling. Hopefully I'm proven wrong!
