Nose
This smells of cream & butter mixed in with honey, grapefruit with faint mango, like a cocktail of exotic fruits.
Palate
As the nose suggested it is indeed creamy with some butter and lots of spice with some grapefruit.
There is a little bitter fruit in the mix fighting against the sweetness of the butter/cream combo.
The spices just seems to grow and push the sweetness of the fruit away and a very faint metallic note creeps in.
It seems to change viscosity in your mouth between cream and getting ever so slightly thin.
Finish
There is an initial warming hit which then gradually fades away to a spicy finish, I would not call it a long finish more good medium length.
This is the sort of dram to drink when you just want to relax with no issues and drink a no nonsense Scotch, this will not appeal to peat heads or sherry monster lovers but as a simple satisfying whisky this hits the spot. _________________ Pour me a glass please. |
