Hi guys,
Just wondering what is any experiences you have had with the NSS Bottlings? I have been offered a few bottles but not sure if to take the plunge or not. The prices are pretty good but tbh I get a little bored of 700ml bottles particularly with some styles so not quite sure of to buy or not. One appears to be a HP (Orkney) and others a Caol Ila, and an Aultmore. The reviews look good on these though but so many other whisky to try and hate getting stuck with bottles that can take me ages to drink as I have a rule of no more than 8 open at a time. Any thoughts? |

I love North Star and what they're doing - at a time when even a lot of independent bottlers are raising their prices beyond reasonable levels, North Star keep offering affordable malts presented the natural way.
I haven't had any of the ones you mentioned, but I have tried the Island Star (also Highland Park) and it was very good. Also their Sirius 31 year-old blend is excellent, and was absurd value for money (£74) when it was on offer on MoM a couple of months ago.
Also this is a minor point, but I love their presentation and their cheeky and inventive way to reveal where their undisclosed bottlings come from! |

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the great reply. I have decided to take the plunge on some and having done further research on the bottles being offered one sounds a lot like a Laphroaig.
I did get the Sirius 31 after watching Ralfy's review, unfortunately not at the price you mentioned but happy to pay for quality so took it anyway.
Looking forward to cracking the HP and possible Laphroaig......whoever it is it has great reviews on whiskybase. |

| I’ve had a brilliant bottle of Islay Star mystery malt from NSS. The coordinates on the label pointed to Caol Ila. It was 11yo, natural colour, unchillfiltered & 50% ABV for £40. I wish I’d got a couple of bottles. |
