|
|
I was wondering if anyone ordered from Laphroaig webshop recently?
I went to order a couple of bottles and got charged almost 16 quid for shipping to Sterling! I know I used to pay 5.99 per order before, but now they seem to have some big distributor doing the shipping for them - Selection Prestige GMBH... Sounds like they charge the same shipping fee to anywhere in Europe.
This is hardly fair on the customer and hardly makes sense - to tie up their shipping within the UK to that throughout Europe.
Anyone else got the same? |

I ordered their latest Cairdeas and it shipped from Germany, you're right I think postage was over £12 |

If that is the case, it will certainly impact my decision on whether to buy anything from Laphroaig directly in the future. Most things from them can be found elsewhere with either free or much reduced shipping overhead.
The parcel arrived from Germany as well - how that makes sense logistically or financially is beyond me! |

My parcel also arrived from Germany, after having to pay £16 postage. I did tweet them asking why a product made in the UK and sold in the UK to be shipped to a UK address came via Germany with a high postage cost, but they elected to ignore me.
They also only recently started accepting GBP Sterling as a currency on their site, was Euro only for a good while! |

| Yeah. Ignored my email too... Whoever is doing customer service at Laphroaig is clearly either on an extended holiday or totally incompetent. |

| Not specifically Laphroaig, but Berry Bros. & Rudd charge £25 for delivery to Highland, Ireland and Island regardless of order value. They have a decent sale sometimes but since they imposed that charge I’ve refused to pay it and have missed some good prices which became not quite so good with an extra £25 rip off for postage. |
