| I've been reading a few reviews around Staoisha, aka peated Bunnahabhain. I see some of the releases over recent years, independents, are even as young as 3 years. Does anyone have experience of peated Bunna and any they'd recommend? |

| I have had a few indie bottlings of peated Bunna over the years which have been stunning. From the currently available Bunna core range I do like the Bunnahabhain Toiteach A Dha https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/42463/bunnahabhain-toiteach-a-dha a great balance of sherry and peat in this one and a drammable price |

Peated Bunna is lovely. Staoisha is their trade name for selling to indies for the peated.
The sadly discontinued OB Ceòbanach was lovely. I have a 'John's peaty dram' tucked away which I believe is peated Bunna that was matured at Kilchoman.

Young peated whisky is lovely if peat is a flavour profile you typically enjoy. I'd have no hesitation trying that. Morrison and McKay bottle some nice ones in their Carn Mor range. Very affordable normally. Young Caol Ila is another solidly reliable bet.

| I have an 8yr old CS Caol Ila that I think is lovely so they do sound good. |

Totally. I’ve found peated (Scotch) malts have a real good sweet spot 4-8 years which doesn’t become apparent again until 15-18 or even older. Young Taliskers, lags U.K. ins and especially Caol Ilas are really really good at this age.
I’ve not yet had an Annandale but the new make was awesome, I’m waiting to see how this plays out.... |
