Are you able to get alcohol at that time in the morning? Have they relaxed the 10am licencing laws for key workers?
I haven't heard any mention of this recently. Would be interesting to find this out for future reference. |

I did not know there was a restriction on when you can buy alcohol. I do have to admit I do not normally go shopping at 8am and buy booze so I would not know. |

The 10am til 10pm law is possibly only in Scotland.
Because we like a Special Brew for breakfast. |

In England as far as I know there is a restriction from 11.59pm to 12pm that you can not buy in supermarkets apart form that it is if the supermarket is open you can buy booze.. |

I was that fed up over the weekend that I cracked open two bottles that I said I wouldn’t until I had finished a few bottles. Wife can’t understand why you have so many partial finished bottles then buy more
Anyway opened Bushmills 16 and Four Roses single barrel.
Then today whilst doing some food shopping for the in-laws saw Old Pultney 12 for £24 so that ended up in their trolley
Neither of them like whisky so stayed with me |

| I've not cracked open any bottles due to the pandemic yet, but I bloody well intend to crack open something special when it's all finally over! |

I specifically bought 2 for what we are now experiencing. I do have about a dozen open but I knew what was coming.... in the extent, I'd be working from home more often.
The onset of Covid was upon us a couple of weeks back and I was in Dufftown, took advantage of an offer The Whisky Shop Dufftown had and bought another bottle while there.
Bought and opened:
Benromach single cask, 2009-2019, one of 242 at 58.8%vol, exclusively selected for The Whisky Shop Dufftown. First fill bourbon barrel 790.
Berry Bros & Rudd - Orkney Islands (Highland Park single cask) 18 year old, 1999-2018, 52.7%vol, cask #30, bottled exclusively for The Whisky Shop Dufftown by BBR. + 2 copita glasses with caps (free)
Tough, tough times for retailers like this and feel good that I could show support before they closed their shop. Thinking of all retailers at this time! Good health to all here and to friends and family.
Was informed today of someone who has died of pneumonia, suspected Covid-19, who was same year as me at school some 25 years ago. 41 no underlying health issues. This killer virus can do one! Do not underestimate! It is in the community! |
