Ardbeg has announced the launch of a new permanent addition to their core range, Ardbeg Wee Beastie 5 Year Old which has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks.
Bottled at 47.4% ABV and with a RRP of £40 it should be available from April

| Damn, that's a very reasonable RRP for a 47% Age-Stated Ardbeg, no matter how young it is! |

| Sounds very good and the confidence to put an age on the bottle.. Maybe positioning it up against Laphroaig QC? With the 10 often discounted to £37 from £47 I can imagine this dipping to around £30 at times which seems a bargain. |

It's £37 at Sainsbury's right now
Hopefully you're right regarding the price dipping below £30 on offer, that would make it a real bargain for an Ardbeg! |

Greenwelly via their Tyndrum site now saying …
"Ardbeg Beastie, hopefully soon, with all the chat online about it, it seems the UK is the only place that it's not released yet. (now hearing End June start of July for release here)!" |

| This sounds nice and it's a reasonable price too. It's good to see a big name like Ardbeg confidently release an age stated whisky. |

Glad these are finally out! I have been watching them go for silly money at auction recently.
Having said that they may sell out fast and then everyone will flock back to the secondary market. Are Ardbeg definitely intending to make these as widely available as the rest of the core range? _________________ Whisky is a form of art.

I have been drinking it for months now as it has been in the EU since mid March.
It is a cracking wee dram. |

| That's my understanding it is a new permanent addition to the core range. Cheers for the heads up William, looking forward to trying this. |
