Glengoyne has released the 7th batch of its big sherried cask strength Teapot Dram which this year is said to contain the oldest selection of whiskies to date. Having tasted it I can say it is another cracking release in the series, the only downside is they have bumped the price up to £120 this year.
More info and my thoughts on the Glengoyne Teapot Dram 7 here:

| I ordered a bottle which arrived yesterday and sampled it last night. Very impressed and something pretty special. A rich cask strength whisky and far superior to batch 6. I’m excited to savour the rest of this one over Christmas and New Year! Second bottle now ordered... |

| I got my son to picked me up a bottle, love it, I totally agree William it tops previous batches. My bottle was supposed to be for over Christmas but I doubt it will see Christmas, I will have to get some more while I can. |

| My brother brought over a bottle of this for me and I have to say it is by far the best of the Glengoyne Teapot Drams to date, one of the best new release sherried drams I have tasted in a while, I have asked him to get me another bottle. |

Yes, unfortunately that is just where we are at the moment when it comes to pricing for most whisky these days.
I haven't had the pleasure of trying batch 7. However going by the comments by folk saying this is the best one Glengoyne have produced, I am tempted to part with my hard earned cash to buy a bottle.
How would you (and other folk who have tried B7) compare it to earlier releases, other than it tasting good. |

I picked up a bottle last week, it really is that good. I'm told it's 8-14 year old in the bottle.
The following day I tried Glenfarclas 21 and it really wasn't as lively (still bought a bottle though!), at the same time I tried a Glenfarclas 25 year single cask which was very good also but was approx £390. |

| I totally disagree with these Dummies take on the Teapot Dram 7 and I have gotten through 2 bottles, an outstanding dram and I wouldn't call it youthful, it is nowhere near 21 or 25 year old but they never claimed it was they do tell you it is a mix of whisky between 8 and 14 year old and that is what I find in the bottle, the only thing I wasn't happy with was the price. |
