Initially launched in August at the Whisky Fringe in Edinburgh the Glen Moray 21 Year Old Portwood Finish sits at the top of the Speyside distillery's Heritage Collection range.
It turns out to be Glen Morays Master Distiller Graham Coull's parting contribution to Glen Moray's heritage as he has recently moved to start a new position as master distiller of Dingle distillery in Ireland.
After posting my review of the Glen Moray 21 Year Old Portwood Finish whisky earlier today which you can read here http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/glenmoray21yearoldportwoodfinish.htm Glen Moray announced the appointment of Distell's Senior Blender for Bunnahabhain, Deanston and Tobermory, Dr Kirstie McCallum, will take over from Graham Coull at Glen Moray. _________________ There's no bad whisky. | That's exciting news for Glen Moray. Dr. Kirstie McCallum is clearly very good at what she does given the recent quality of Deanston and Ledaig in particular. On the evidence of her work there, I would expect Glen Moray to quietly build an impressive range over the coming few years. I also had the pleasure of attending a tasting with her around six years ago, and it was definitely a good step above the usual tastings conducted by brand ambassadors. That was the first time I paid attention to Tobermory and Ledaig, which I had previously dismissed. |

| It will be interesting to see what Kirstie will create at Glen Moray, still quite a loss for Distell. |

| That sounds worth a try William and interesting news about Kirstie McCallum moving to Glen Moray. The whisky industry is becoming a bit like Premier league football management these days, everybody needs to have an established big name with a proven track record managing them and if you don't look after your manager someone else will poach them away. |

| A bit of a loss for the Distell whisky brands, I will be interested to see what Kirstie comes up with for Glen Moray and hopefully sticking to their drinkable pricing. |
