Whats On?
Hosting a jam-packed programme this year, Auchentoshan is proud to welcome you to it's annual festival on Saturday 28th August to enjoy a wide variety of entertainment, locally produced food and most importantly single malt whisky (only for those of you over eighteen years old of course!).

Cookery Demo
with David Kinnes in the Main Marquee
Award winning Executive Chef David Kinnes will be showcasing an assortment of Auchentoshan dishes. This show will be held throughout the festival and entry is complimentary.

From 11:15am - 12.15pm
and 2:15pm - 3.15pm

Mixology Workshop
in the Main Marquee
Award winning mixology company Badaboom will be breaking ground in this fresh and zesty show where they will be demonstrating Auchentoshan's mix-ability. All the spark and excitement as expected in a cocktail show! This show will be held throughout the festival and entry is complimentary.

Farmers Market
throughout the grounds
Scotland's Number 1 Farmer's market will be treating us to a mixture of locally produced delights at this year's festival. With over forty stalls for 2010, you will be spoilt for choice.



Chainsaw Sculpture
with Andy Maclachlan near the Main Stage
Live and theatrical sculptures are created by Andy McLachlan in front of you eyes using a chainsaw. Requests are often taken for sculptures so get there early!

Falconry Display
near the Main Marquee
Get up close and personal with these majestic birds of prey. Join Kirsten Millar from Raptor World for a memorable experience.

Real Ale Tent
near the Main Stage
Located beside the lawn in front of the stage where "Fortunate Sons"? will be playing, the Auchentoshan Ale tent will be serving ale matured uniquely in Auchentoshan Whisky Barrels. A selection of refreshing Auchentoshan long summer drinks, white and red wine and a variety of soft drinks will also be on offer.

Cooperage Demonstration
with Jim Reilly near the Main Stage
Watch artist at work, Jim Reilly, where he recreates the age old art of the cooper. Creating whisky barrels from scratch in front of your very eyes.

Whisky Tours
in the Distillery
All festival visitors are invited to tour the distillery at their leisure. These self guided tours will give you an insight into the workings of the distillery. Each information point is attended by a tour guide.




Raymond Mearns
Raymond is a professional stand-up comedian and actor working extensively for some of the biggest clubs in the UK including The Comedy Store, Jongleurs & The Stand. Raymond will be our compere for the day.

Fortunate Sons
on the Main Stage
Glasgow band "Fortunate Sons"? will get everybody moving at this year's festival. A hit at last year's Glastonbury Festival, full of energy and described as "somewhere between the past and future of rock and roll"? by Peter Jenner ex Pink Floyd manager.

Kid's Entertainment
with Chico the Clown near the Main Marquee
Auchentoshan Whisky Festival is not just for the adults! Regular shows will be running where kids can learn how to juggle at the Circus Workshop, giggle out loud at the Comedy Class and be amazed in the Magic Show. Face painting, balloon modelling and Giant Bubble's will also be keeping the younger visitors busy throughout the day.

Master Classes
In addition to the main attractions at this year's festival, there will also be a variety of master classes held in the distillery. These classes bring together a selection of experts in their chosen subject, so don't miss this rare chance to learn from the top!

The Auchentoshan Introduction to Whisky
with Tom Jones in the Kilpatrick Suite
Participants will have the chance to taste the Auchentoshan core range as well as being given a demonstration of the effect various casks selected have on the new make Auchentoshan spirit. Hosted by Auchentoshan's European Brand Ambassador Tom Jones.

From 11.30am - 12.30pm and 4pm - 5pm

A Match Made in Heaven
Auchentoshan and Chocolate
with Martine Nouet in the Kilpatrick Suite
Hosted by Martine Nouet, the editor of the French edition of "Whisky Magazine"?. Martine's area of expertise lies in both food and whisky, making her the ideal tutor to take you through this Chocolate and Whisky pairing class. Participants will sample a selection of the Auchentoshan range, all matched individually with handmade Scottish chocolates from the Islay Chocolate Company.

From 1pm - 2pm

Vintage Master Class
with Iain McCallum in the Blenders Room
A unique opportunity to sample some of the finest limited editions from Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch under the guidance of Morrison Bowmore's highly acclaimed Senior Blender Iain McCallum. Such archive whiskies will include Gold Bowmore, Auchentoshan 1957 and the most recent edition to Auchentoshan's limited edition collection, a Sherry Matured 1977 a rare release of only 240 bottles.

2010 Festival Bottlings

1998 Limited Edition

Auchentoshan's Head Distiller Jeremy Stephens has hand selected the first two hundred bottles of this year's limited edition release. A 1998 cask strength, Sherry Matured expression, bottled specially for the 2010 festival. Each bottle is hand numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Jeremy.


Bottle Your Own

A visit to this year's festival will offer you chance to bottle your own Auchentoshan straight from the cask. Your bottle will be filled from a cask which has been specifically selected due to its excellent quality, exceptional flavours and to commemorate this years festival. The ultimate souvenir.

I would like to go to this myself but dont fancy taking the car. Does anyone know if it is easy to get to Auchentoshan by - preferably rail ( i would be going via Glasgow Central station).

To travel to the distillery by public transport take the number 66 bus from Glasgow city centre to its last stop (Mountblow). From the bus stop walk towards the dual carriageway, after about 200 yards turn left into Auchentoshan. Alternatively the nearest train station is Kilpatrick which is served by trains from Glasgow Queen Street station. The distillery is a short taxi journey away.

Thanks JAB, i think i may go for the train and taxi option as i wouldnt know which bus stop to catch the bus. I just dont see any point in going if i have to drive and then cant sample the whisky.

you can catch the 66 at many stops through glasgow, where abouts are you traveling from?

yes i know what you meen think i will be doing the train option if i cannot get a lift.

I can't wait for this again. I just get the train to Kilpatrick and walk round. It's about ten minutes.

Good to see the beer will be back although I'm told it will not be brewed in-house this time and will be outsourced to their recipe. A little bird also told me they are planning to build a micro-brewery on site in the future!

well if you are getting the train u can change at central and go down to the low level, you need to get on the train for helensburgh but this goes from queen street normally but u can change at partick station.

a lift is always a good thing.

if you are after a bottle on the day i would recomend that you are nice and early herd hat its limited to 200.
