In recent times I've been reading this blog fairly regularily.
I'm interested in what everyones take is on the tone of the articles on there? It's one of the more militant blogs I've come across, scorning the mainstream distilleries and standard bottlings in most cases.
I like the fact that it's opinion rich, I'll take that over MOR write ups. Scoring wise theres the out of 10 system rather than out of 100 which I prefer but I almost think that the scores aren't really required as the conclusuions are fairly detailed. |

| I don't like the blog, reviews are personal opinions but I have found more than a few of the reviews on this blog so far off my opinion that I wouldn't rate any reviews on the blog. They do tend to under rate whiskies and appear to think of themselves as whisky experts and IMO they are not. |

I like it and check it out most days.
Not all of it and not all of the reviewers though. Tend to ignore the world whisky stuff but thats just me.
It did amuse me the other day with the backlash over a poor Springbank review. Comment is great but some do take offence too easily imo.
I like a bit of opinion in answer to your question although as per Grants comments there is a line for me that I struggled with a bit for some of the reviewers. Hey ho, each to their own though eh.. |

| I enjoy their blogs. I'm sometimes surprised by a few scores but in general they are informative and will engage in discussion either below the blog or on Facebook. |

| I’ve dipped in and out of the blog. More out than in... Sometimes I wonder why they drink whisky as there can be a lot of negativity! |

The do seem to be sick of the status quo. I haven't experienced enough Whisky to get like that but one or two things I've read recently have resonated. There seems to be a particular axe to grind over the Islay distilleries standard bottlings. |
