3 very nice (and expensive!) bottles have been released by the SMWS for their Vaults Collection 2019.
30 year old Macallan - 1st Fill Bourbon
30 year old Dailuaine - 1st Fill American Oak PX Hogshead
31 year old Mortlach - 2nd Fill Ex Moscatel Barrique
The Macallan and Mortlach went extremely quickly, but there are still some bottles of Dailuaine left. Anyone know how many bottles were actually available? It said 169 Macallan but I assume it was a lot less! |

| I can only go by the SMWS website which stated the Macallan was an outturn of 169 bottles and I would imagine due to the fact it was Macallan that it would have sold very quickly. I wouldn't have fancied it myself, it sounded like it was rather woody, perhaps over oaked for my liking and it was bottled at just over 40% which perhaps is an indication that they bottled it before it dropped below 40% and was no longer considered whisky and not so much bottled for the quality of the whisky, I may be wrong and hope it is a stunning example of the Macallan for those that got hold of a bottle. |

| Yes, I agree it was probably bottled before it was too late, and 41.1% ABV seems quite low for a 30 year old. And what gave away that it was woody? They only mentioned antique wood, mahogany, sandalwood, pencil shavings and bare wood haha! |
