Some of you may recall Woolf Sung's first foray into whisky bottling. It was the stunningly presented "Glenglassaugh 40yo 1972", which was sub-titled "Hunter"
Well, the follow up is on its way soon. It is to be a "Bowmore 1991". No further details yet.

Woolf Sung Bowmore 1991, keep us posted 👠great early information, wonder how tricky it'll be to get this bottle. The Hunter 40yo Glenglassaugh looked superb, such a rarity, dont even know if it went to retailers...

I think Milroy's of Soho still has a Glenglassaugh 1972 too.
A Bowmore 1991, the secind in this 'glamourous' series, has still yet to be labelled, etc.. |

Actually you can still buy this wolf Sung bottle because it is a 3 way shared cask by the looks of it, you just need to get it from another bottler.
Glenglassaugh Carn Mor 1972
cask number R13/08/01 (same cask number as Woolfsung)
distilled 22/12/72
Bottled 22/2/13
200 bottles
and also this one while no cask details (apart from sherry) the details are the same
C&S Dram collection, Dram Exceptional
distilled 22/12/72
Bottled 22/2/13
300 bottles
Both of these I believe were significantly cheaper than the wolfsun and are still available
The 3 bottles do appear to be from the same cask as the woolf Sung was a 160 bottles so 660 total seems about right
Why pay more, tje woolf sung bottle was about £900 yet you can still buy the C7S Dram for £385 and the Carn Mor for just over £500.
If they share a cask for the Bowmore I would check around for alternatives from the same cask.
If you want to pay the extra for a nice looking bottling with fancy packaging that will enhance your collection ok but if you want to drink it then shopping around with other bottlers could save yourself £400-£500 almost as the Glenglassaugh shared cask shows.

| Is that not a bit cheeky spiting up a large barrel between a few companies and that way it seems that it is a lot smaller then it really is. As I was looking at getting one of the bottles but looking at what Lincoln said I think I will look for something else.. |

To be fair many of the smaller Independent bottlers regularly split casks, especially from mainland Europe, it is not a problem if they supply full details, I suppose it is their way of spreading the cost.
I have just pointed this out because some old casks after the angels share do only yield a few hundred bottles but the larger casks a lot more, so if the bottle run is small like the woolfburn Glenglassaugh was. it pays to double check as it could save you a lot of money.

There is a decanter of the Woolf Sung Bowmore 1991 on Just Whisky Auction, so assume that it has now been officially released

I looked on their Website a few days ago and there was no mention of it and there still is not, this is possibly released to the auction to gauge public opinion and what price they can sell it for etc?
A pre release testing the water, creating a bit of interest by the looks of it

So its not on the Woolf Sung website and not on Millroy's site, why is that, usually the websites are up to date?
So how much do Milroy's want for it eelbrook?
