| I don't have a Glen Scotia currently in my (drinking) collection, nor a rum cask I'm happy with (not a fan of Balvenie 14) and this was too interesting to pass. Now that Ralfy gave it a 90 I'm even happier I got it! |

| I do like what I have had to date from Glen Scotia, half way through a bottle of their 15 year old a the moment which I would happily replace when it is gone. |

I did open this as I was way too curious to resist. I have to wholeheartedly agree with Ralfy: this is the good stuff we should drink and pray the gods collectors will stay away from.
There's all sorts of flavors in this thing, name one at random and likely it's there: it's smoky, coastal, lemon-y, spicy, malty... it's a really, really cool experience. £70 for a 15 years old is something I've probably never done before, but in this case it's worth every penny.
Having to find flaws - it's a bit headsy and the finish... finished eventually. I know I can't expect an Octomore finish from this, though. In any case, this was only the first dram and I'm quite keen to see how it will evolve as the bottle goes down. |
