|
|
Hi all,
I've been lurking here for a while and gathered some useful information about whiskies, so thanks to all the contributors fro your useful information.
I decided to post here as I recently referred a friend to the SMWS, I got a £20 voucher and was looking at the trio offer at £145. With the voucher applied this works out at £41 and some change per bottle. I was wondering if folk here thought this would be worth it, or if I should use the voucher on something else?

| Anything I have had from smws has always been drinkable, varying from ok to outstanding, I cant comment on the 3 mystery bottlings but at £41 a bottle I would think it wouldn't be too much of a risk. |

| Do you get to find out what they are after you've bought them, or is the identity of the distilleries always a mystery? |

| These bottles are mystery bottles and have no distillery number the way I read it, but I would like to think the distillery number is revealed when you take delivery or at a later date. |

I'm aware they use codes for each distillery, but as Mark said these are sold as 'mystery bottles' with no codes as far as I'm aware. I was just wondering whether the identity remains a mystery after you've purchased them or not, I know I would be tempted if it was revealed. |

Thanks all for your replies.
I should have said that my main reason for purchasing the trio were as gifts for relatives as opposed to drinking for myself! I know I could pop along to the supermarket and get some good deals for around £25 a bottle, but I thought this might be a bit better to buy something a little bit more different.
I think I'll go ahead and buy it. I'll come back and let you know what bottles I got. |
