Can anyone please tell me what the difference is between the Bowmore 25 year old and the Bowmore 25 year old Small Batch?
Which came first?
Many thanks. |

I believe the Bowmore 25 year old came before the Bowmore 25 year old Small Batch Release but AFAIK they are both the same whisky, with the small batch being a repackaged 25 year old presented in a new bottle and box with the fact that it is a small batch release emphasised on the packaging.
here is an example of the old bottle

and the new bottle

They may have tweaked the recipe for what goes into the 25 over the years but I don't recall any official announcement of this, also by there very nature such a small batch of single malt is bound to vary slightly in its taste profile from year to year. |
