A well deserved award for Sazerac 18, if you havent tried it give it a go you may well be very surprirised.

Also well deserved for the Ardbeg Supernova, i think like me Jim has a soft spot for the Ardbeg. I may have to try the Amrut Fusion which picked up 3rd place.

Just got my copy of the Whisky Bible through the post today, havent had a new one since 2008. What i have noticed that is different from 2008 is the half point score marking and the Whisky Bible Liquid Gold Awards - both good additions in my opinion.
I just wish they would do a bigger version of this book as we dont all want to carry it around in our pockets. A bigger version with larger print and pages that stay open without having to hold it would be great. The content of the book is stll great and a must have.

I like the Liquid Gold award section also, i see it as a list of what is worth trying although not all of them i could afford to try.

Thats a great idea Alastair, it does annoy me that it wont stay open.
My money was on the Ardbeg Corrvreckan taking an award this year, it wasnt far away he gave it 96.5 He must have some tasting skills to determine half a point difference, lol.

Jim certainly has a liking for the smoky whiskies, which makes this a good guide for me towards what is worth trying as i also like the smoky whiskies. Interesting to see Amrut doing well, i havent tried it yet but will have to make a point to try it next time i see it at a whisky tasting event. A larger version of this book would be great, it is sometimes annoying that it doesnt stay open.
