I was hoping you gentleman could help me out, my father fell in love with glenmorangie port wood finnish while he was in england in the 90's. Today that bottle is pretty pricey and lately he has enjoyed the 18 year glenmorangie. Now what i was hoping is that maybe you guys had some suggestions for something along the same flavor profile for my fathers birthday this year. I appreciate any suggestions you may have for me.

Glenmorangie have a 12 year old with a port wood finish called Quinta Ruban. 46%, non chill filtered and costs around £45. So considerably cheaper than the 18 year old!
I can't say how it compares to the 1990's port wood finish as I have never tried it, but the Quinta Ruban is a very nice dram. |

I second the Quinta Ruban. Very enjoyable to me and certainly a cheaper alternative to Balvenie 21. _________________ Dave |

| The Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban replaced the Port Wood Finish, the Quinta Ruban is a similar whisky really only it is bottled at the slightly higher strength of 46% abv, the Port Wood Finish was 43% arguably making it a little more tasty. |

Hi Kaleb, as others have pointed out above the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban replaced the Port Wood Finish
If you cant get hold of the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban another very good port finished whisky I would suggest is the Tomatin 14 year old Port Wood Finish https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/tomatin/tomatin-14-year-old-port-wood-finish-whisky/ _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
