Its always intrigued me as to what contributes to whisky price increases, obviously supply and demand being one of the main factor and this week I have had a bit of an education in the world of the Facebook selling groups. Ive never laughed so much at some of the posts in them about peoples reasoning behind some of the prices they are looking for. Has anyone else had experience of them? The Macallan Clan has stood out a mile with some of the prices people are looking for...

It is not just the prices on FB a friend found a bottle he has been looking for for years so he got chatting to the guy who was on the other end of the country to him so they where talking about how to post it and pay for it.
It ended with the guy insisting that my friend pays for it by bank transfer and he would post it recorded delivery the next day Laughing

I am sure there are loads of people on there that are just looking at moving on a couple of bottle they have but I am guessing there are loads of people on there that are just trying one on, which I am sure people do fall for!

Ah the old bank transfer request, do not touch it with a barge pole unless you know the person.
It is extremely hard to cancel a bank transfer certainly after 3 hours, if you are paying thousands of pounds for a bottle unless you know that person why risk it. Can you verify where they live, who they are etc.
It is so easy to set up accounts at banks in different places to where a person is located.
What guarantee have you, they could be fraudsters.
