This is definitely one for those with deep pockets but it is always good to see what the other half are drinking. The Balvenie has unveiled the fourth chapter of its DCS Compendium series of single cask whiskies and the theme of this years series is 'Expecting The Unexpected'. The Balvenie 1971 47 Year Old is the oldest expression in the Chapter 4 line-up, with the most unexpected in the line-up being a peaty Balvenie 2009 9 Year Old.

The Balvenie DCS Compendium Chapter 4 Expecting The Unexpected launches in November and will be available as a set for a RRP of £29,000 as well as individually from specialist online whisky shops such as The Whisky Shop and Master of Malt

I think I will have one set for drinking and the other for the collection. As you say William, t is always good to see what the other half are drinking.

Shocked would like to try the 1971, 47 year old Laughing £21,000 plus the 20% mark up from the retailers.. let me remortgage the house and I'll share it with you.

got me thinking how much my 20cl Balvenie 1974, 43 year old, bourbon cask might be worth....

If forced to choose between them the Balvenie 1999 18 Year Old, Cask No. 9304 would be my choice but all will have to wait until my lottery numbers comes up.
