Cattle Creep Whisky is the creation of Dan Bonner of Concrete Cow Brewery - Milton Keynes' first micro brewery - and Laurence Conisbee of Wharf Distillery and Wharf Cider (formerly Virtual Orchard) - Milton Keynes' first cider makers and craft distillers.

By combining their expertise - the brewer's art of blending different malts with the distiller's skill in taking the perfect cuts - then matching the output with a serious piece of oak, they believed they could create a distinctive English whisky unlike any other.

This uncommon collaboration has taken the conventional then added a number of twists to bring tradition into the 21st century. While the end result will be whisky, the journey from selecting the malt to filling the cask has been far from what might be expected of this age old spirit.

The Cattle Creep spirit was put into a Madeira cask on 28th October 2015 and will be available from 1 December 2018. Initially there will be a limited release of 50 certificated 70cl bottles in presentation boxes at £110 per bottle. Later there will be a special release, a distillers cut of possibly just 20-30 bottles.

To secure your bottle of the first limited release you can pay a reservation fee of £55 now using the button on the right, with balance due on collection in 2018. There is a limit of 1 bottle per customer. A reservation/gift certificate will be sent upon receipt of deposit. Postage can be arranged as required.

Check it out at - http://cattlecreep.uk/

They could do with improving the website especially if they hope to get £110 per bottle. I would be interested in hearing what the whisky is like but at £110 for a very young unknown whisky isn't for me but it may attract the collectors/ whisky speculators as this market has gone mad. Though I someone I doubt such a young whisky will turn out to be outstanding and a great investment.

A better website with more info is needed, for example is this just a one off experimental small batch of whisky or is this the first of a new ongoing whisky label and what sort of number will be released in the future?

From a whisky drinkers point of view releases of new brand 3 year old whiskies are too expensive to drink and they will always taste like very young whisky therefore not worth the money if you are going to drink it.

Well, the web site is certainly uninspiring, and needs a lot more work, but I've seen worse.

£110 for an unknown three-year old whisky, though? No way would I pay that!

When the single 55L ex-Madeira cask was filled, my understanding is that it was an experiment. However, there will likely be more more casks filled in the future.

I guess that it is similar to the Hicks & Healey collaboration in Cornwall.

Now just a couple of days until England has another Single Malt Whisky.

Back when this was first publicised, eyebrows were rightly raised at a £110 price tag for a 3 year old.

However, in the context of 'first release' prices, it is now pretty much in line.

Bottled for 1st December.

Today, there is "whisky" from Milton Keynes (of all places)

I make it the sixth English distillery to bottle its own distillate as whisky (after St George's, Hicks & Healey, Adnams, Cotswolds and Lakes).

But happy to be corrected.

Well I just hope it is better than Adnams whisky?

I think £110 for a 3 year is a joke, it does not matter that it is a first release, it is a 3 year old whisky without any pedigree, unless it is out of this world (doubtful) it is not worth it.

I am all for supporting new businesses, I got a couple of bottles of new make from Annandale when it opened
I do not call paying £110 for a 3 year old a `bit of fun`?
I will support anything if it is priced fairly.

Another 'craft product' wanting to charge a premium. If many of the new gin producers go down this line too the market will be flooded with low age high priced craft products.
