Hi everyone. I'm by no means a beginner but I can't decide which of the following to buy for my next purchase I'm wanting something nice and a little different. Here's a shortlist any help would be appreciated. I haven't tried any if these.
Glenkinchie distillers edition
Old pulteney 17
Clynelish 14
Dalmore 12
Caol ila distillers edition
Glenmorangie Quinta ruban
Woodford reserve rye
Glenmorangie 18
MacAllan 12 sherry oak
Balvenie 12 single barrel |

I would suggest:
Caol Ila Distillers Edition or
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban
You couldn't go wrong with either of these. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

If you are quick grab yourself a Dalmore15 from Amazon in the cyber Monday sale tonight it's down to £42.50 the same price as the Dalmore 12 on your list.

| My personal choice from your list would be Caol ila distillers edition, Glemorangie 18 and the Balvenie 12 single barrel |

Stay clear of the Macallan.
The Balvenie and Clynelish would be near the top of my list. |

Among those I'd go Clynelish all day, Quinta as plan B.
Stay away from 40% stuff - not because it's awful, bit because there's better. |

| The Glenmorangie 18 is good and the port finish in the Quinta Ruban makes it a little different. The Caol Ila is excellent and the Clynelish is good although a wee bit heavier on the caramel these days but still good. |
