GRANT'S 12 YEAR OLD SCOOPS GOLD AT 2009 INTERNATIONAL SPIRITS CHALLENGE
Grant's multi award winning 12 Year Old aged blend has once again reasserted its credentials as one of the whisky industry's most revered blended Scotch Whiskies by taking Gold at the prestigious 2009 International Spirits Challenge (ISC).
The ISC award for Grant's 12 Year Old is just the latest in a line of awards and praise from the experts. Grant's 12 Year Old is part of the multi award winning range of Grant's whiskies owned by family distiller William Grant & Sons and is made using only the finest single malt and grain whiskies, which mature in oak casks for a minimum of twelve years before spending a unique three month finishing period in the marrying tun, producing a full bodied Scotch of exceptional richness. Re-packaged in 2008 with a new premium and contemporary campaign, the 12 year old blend is going from strength to strength amongst deluxe consumers.
This is just the latest award for Grant's whisky after the flagship 110 year old Family Reserve blend also scooped Gold at the 2009 International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC).
Kate Athanasi, Grant's Global Brand Director says: "It's a great honour for us that the panel, which includes some of the most highly respected names in the business have awarded Grant's 12 Year Old blend with this most prestigious honour. It's a real reflection of the craft and care attention that goes into producing this exceptional whisky."?
Grant's range of cask finished and aged blended Scotch whiskies, include Grant's Cask Reserves, created by "finishing' Grant's Family Reserve in either ale or sherry casks before bottling. Grant's 12 Year Old is the only blend to spend an extra finishing period in American oak cask, producing a full bodied Scotch of exceptional richness.
