One after dinner? One before bed? No more than three in an evening? Single? Double? Once a week? Twice a week?

I normally have 2 or 3 35ml pours (depending on strength), 2-3 times a week.

It very much varies for me, one most evenings to end the day around 25ml if I have been at home all evening. weekends if I am at home I would have 3 -4 pours.

I wanted to ask this question, too, but I didn't want to be indelicate Razz

I have quite a delicate tummy, so I need to drink considerately. All in all I, on average, drink about 6-7 alcohol units a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

If I'm home in the evening on a weekday, avg. 3 days out of 5 I'll have a 2-2.5cl dram. On the weekend it depends on where I go out, but it's mostly a glass of wine over dinner or maybe a cocktail (or two), plus a Sunday dram to end the week with a smile.

This and last week I'm probably around 12-13 alcohol units as I dine out quite often. When this happens, I'll be quieter the following week(s).
This regime, together with a consistently healthy diet, allows me to enjoy my drinks without the concern of a burning tummy or making my liver go (too) crazy. The downside is that I take ages to finish a bottle...

For reference, over Xmas I was home for 3 weeks; after drinking on avg. 2 glasses of wine and a dram every.single.day for 19 days out of 21, my body was starting to not feel good.

The odd one or two in the evening if I am home through the working week, 3 or 4 at the weekends if I am home, usually 2 to 4 dry days a week. My problem is I often end up with too many bottles open as I like to be careful about not getting into the habit of consuming too much but my curiosity gets the better of me when I purchase something new which leaves me with too many open and just the one average sized liver to process it, but I pass on quite a bit to my dad who is very happy to help me drink it.

It varies a lot. Sometimes I'll have one or two drams 4-5 days a week, other times I go for weeks without any whisky (I actually drink very little alcohol, if at all, other than whisky). Not by design, it just happens. It depends on how clear my nose is too - some days I feel like I won't be able to appreciate a whisky fully so I just don't drink.

I have a funny work pattern, different each week over a month. I drink every day I'm not in work. I have 2 doubles, in a glencairn on each occasion which works out over the month to average about 14/15 units a week. One week It'll be 4 days from 7 I'll have a drop, another it can be twice out of 7 days.

If I'm drinking cask strength stuff then I have less in my glass.

Little and often is my approach, very rarely am I drunk.

One most evening after dinner, around a 20 - 25ml pour. 2 or 3 on a Friday and Saturday night if I am at home, which is around 50% of the time.

Far too much in terms of beer.

Drams and copious amounts of water I find helps me ‘regulate’. Turns out I just like drinking lots of fluids. I drink 3 liters of water a day, more when I’m not having a pint.

I get about 8 drams in a week.

I would note that I’ve been told by people who know far more than me that in terms of health, 2 consecutive days without booze and lots of water does wonders for your liver.

Wow this is a hard one!

I drink most nights, but that can be just a wee dram or two or 2 or 2.1/2 bottles of wine over a night...

But in a week I would say I would drink
5/7 pints
4/5 bottles of wine
and about 10/12 drams

My problem is, it that I have loads of friends that love to drink so when I am at home just chilling and thinking of having a couple of drams a friend will pop around after popping to the shop for a few bottles of wine. Like tonight I had a really bad day at work!! and some friends asked me if I wanted a couple of beers on my way home in which I said yes. After 4 pints I head home for a shower and some food, then another friend phones me in tears needing to talk so they are now heading over with a couple of bottles of wine.

I packed up drinking lager 9 years ago and stopped completely for a year, then just at weekends I fancied a few drinks so went into cider, two half pint bottles that’s all, then from there bout 5 years ago got into whisky, at first probably drinking to much but now weekend only and probably a quarter bottle, havnt started this year yet as having a wee rest and getting into a fitter way, lost 15 pounds so far,

About 25 units a week. Normally across four days with three dry days. A bit much.
