Distell, owner of Bunnahabhain, Deanston and Tobermory/Ledaig distilleries has unveiled its first annual limited release Distell Malt Collection and this first batch of annual releases will feature two unique expressions each from Bunnahabhain and Ledaig and one each from Deanston and Tobermory.



The six whiskies in the inaugural Distel Malt Collection are:

Tobermory 2005 12 Year Old Fino Cask Finish

Ledaig 1998 19 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish

Ledaig 1998 19 Year Old PX Cask Finish

Deanston 2008 10 Year Old Brandy Cask Finish

Bunnahabhain 2008 9 Year Old Mòine Bordeaux Red Wine Cask Matured

Bunnahabhain Palo 20 Year Old Cortado Cask Finish

The Bunna does look good, but like the look of the Deanston. Think I will attempt to get one.

Looks like it's their response to Diageo's Distillers' Edition of their various signature malts.

Having these at cask strength looks like a good start, but I'm not sure I like all this wine in my whisky...

Great to see Distell doing this, both the Deanston 2008 and Bunna 2008 appeals to me.

I agree, good to see Distell getting creative with their maturing stock. The Ledaig bottlings may be interesting also, expensive though. A young and an old expression from each distillery would be nice and gives everyone a chance to try something from each of their distilleries.
