Just received notification of another release hot off the release of the Rare cask batch 1.

Getting a bit relentless this from Macallan.

Yes I got the email introducing The Macallan Easter Elchies Black earlier today. At least it looks like they are sticking to an online ballot with this one and avoiding the chaos on the roads leading to the distillery which the last big release caused.

1,958 bottles priced at £750, if anyone is interested entries to the ballot close on 9th October

Exactly, but I am sure it will sell though.

Well all I can say is that if I get picked in the ballot it is going to go into storage for my retirement..

If I win the ballot, I'm going to flip it, auction reserve £7500. Top Malt

Without causing World War 3 whenever Macallan is mentioned, did anybody hear anything from the ballot, I know quite a few who entered from my whisky club but nobody has received anything yet and from previous ballots if you are successful they tend to contact after the first day or two after the draw.

They said we wouldn't hear back until November in the small print and then we'd have 72hrs to purchase if successful.

I'm among the ballot winners. Now I don't know if I should just join the scalpers bandwagon...

There is of course the chance that it could be a tasty dram... real shame we don't know anything about it other that its name...

It will surely be a tasty dram, but for that money I can buy something absolutely exceptional, not a NAS that will taste marginally better than the 12 years old (did someone say Rare Cask?)
