Wow I have heard on the news that the most expensive bottle of whisky sold was today for £848.000
It was the Macallan Valerio Adami 1926

I have to admit it was not me who purchased it.

I like to think it was purchased to be opened.

In the article:-
Experts describe it as the holy grail of whiskies, because of the combination of its rarity, vintage and unique artwork.

I thought the Samaroli Bowmore 1966 was the Holy Grail of whisky or the Laphroaig 1967 Samaroli?

Just because it is 60 years old and from 1926 and called Macallan, how does that qualify it as the Holy Grail of whiksy, 24 bottles total, yes that is rare but it does not qualify it as the best whisky, hell can you find a tasting note about it?

I am sure it is lovely but the Holy Grail, do we know the names of these so called experts?

Some will believe any old * if it relates to Macallan, all whisky should be given acolades on one thing only - taste.
