Anyone done the single cask experience tour in Tomatin? Is it worth it? Going to be in that area next week, I've done enough basic distillery tours to want something more in-depth and special.

I did a similar tour during the Inverness Whisky Festival and was lucky enough to be shown around by Graham Eunson so while the tour was quite conventional, his stories and depth of knowledge really made it special.

I would suspect the tour would be fairly standard and the extra cost is coming from the cask sampling and perhaps greater warehouse access. Tomatin single cask whisky is special stuff - quite a jump in quality from their core range for my palate.

If you're a whisky fan and keen on single cask drams then I would definitely say go for it. You'll more than likely end up bottling your own favourite from their range Wink I have a PX finished one in my cupboard that I am looking forward to opening.

Thanks - yeah makes sense. It's mostly the warehouse and cask sampling I'm interested in so it sounds like it would be worth a shot.

I have done this tour a few times, it’s a great tour and usually very informative too, if I am correct you will sample the 5 bottle your own casks so a Bourbon, Oloroso, Px, Virgin oak and an older bourbon cask.. It’s done quite steadily and generally not too many on the tour so can be quite personal.. well worth it in my opinion 👍

Back from Inverness now - wrote down my impressions from distillery visits in the 'Visiting whisky distilleries' section if anyone's interested.
