Didn't realise that this had been discontinued, or as good as,.

As of the spring 2018, 'Speymalt from Macallan Distillery' will continue to be bottled occasionally; however, it will only be released in selected worldwide markets.

It was an affordable dram of Macallan, now I notice hardly anybody is stocking it. sold out everywhere......not surprising, but a shame never the less.

I rarely bother with Macallan as it's generally too overpriced and underproofed for my liking, but the Speymalt offered great value. Last I had was a 1998/2016 bottle which was about Â£60 which seems a far more sensible price than they go for now.

Shame if it is discontinued.

Smacks of a marketing ploy to me, make out it will be scarce, scare the pants of would be punters who would buy it normally, whack the price up and viola, there you have it, a massive price hike and panic buying thrown in for good measure, because it is rarely going to be released (allegedly)?
