In a very bold move by Jura they have launched a complete new Jura whisky range.

The new Jura whisky line up now looks like this:
    Jura Journey
    Jura 10
    Jura 12
    Jura Seven Wood
    Jura 18

These five new single malts replace the now discontinued:
    Jura Superstition
    Jura 10 Year Old Origin
    Jura 12 Elixir
    Jura Prophecy
    Jura 16 year old

The five new whiskies should be starting to appear in whisky shops in the next couple of weeks.

On top of the new domestic market range Jura will also be rolling out its first travel retail exclusive whisky range in April 2018, the Jura Sherry Collection, a range of four whiskies which have all been enhanced in Sherry casks that previously held Pedro Ximénez.

This is a without a doubt a bold move by Jura to discontinue their complete core range and replace it with a new range but I would say that it is probably a sensible move as some of the old Jura range fell short of what you would hope it would be and I believe with the right maturation and blending Jura could be turning out some very good whiskies. Hopefully there will be a few gems amongst the new whiskies.

For some details on the five new Jura whiskies see here:

Seems like a bit of a sherry theme running through a few of the new Jura whiskies. I doubt I would be the guinea pig to splash out and try them first but hopefully there are some good ones amongst them as I do enjoy a sherried dram, it will be interesting to read the reviews when they start coming in,

Asda reduced the Jura 16 to £18.50 in some stores this week, worth keeping an eye out as the 16 was pretty good. I would guess the new 18 may be redirected stock that was once destined for the 16

It is a shame to see that there is no new big smoky Jura and the Prophecy is gone still the new range will be welcome, it will be interesting to try and to read others thoughts on it.

I have to say I was not a fan of the now old Jura range so probably a sensible move as you say in your article William, I will look forward to the new range arriving here.

Going by the tasting notes it sounds like they may have perhaps taken the peaty stock which may have been destined for Prophecy and blended some in with the new expressions. this could be an interesting new range I will certainly give it a go if reviews are good.

Interesting to read that they are going down the sherry route with a touch of smoke, good move if they have used quality sherried casks, time will tell.

Managed to pick up the last on the asda shelf the 16 Jura today at slow price, as I've never tried this before I might end up drinking it but now it's gone soon from our shelfs and it being a £40 ish price tag how much will it rise over the next few years? Is it worth just holding in to it ?

Hard to tell. My gut reaction is no short- medium term. These were fairly accessible and made in large quantities. After 20 years perhaps as there will be less and less available (assuming that Jura don’t start the 16 again). Also it wasn’t a hugely impressive dram that’s made me want to go seeking it out again.

I will look forward to the new Jura whiskies arriving here, Yes a bold move to admit you aren't getting it quite right and to say here is something (hopefully) better.

I had all the old range opened at one point. The only one I bought more of was the 16 year old, the others were ok but wouldn't buy again. I've always looked away from Jura to be honest... unsure whether to try the new range, might ask for them as gifts.
