Dear whisky-lovers,

I am new here, so sorry in case I am not posting to proper forum.

15 years ago I used to collect single malt miniatures, but I am not into in anymore.

Now I would like to sell my best piece from the collection - Macallan 1961 mini (without the tube, I lost it Sad.

One guy offered me 200 euros but I think it is too low offer. As I do not observe the market and I have never used on-line whisky auctions (there were none by that time!), I do not know what could be the current price on the market.

The most recent auction result I found is this:
https://www.whisky-onlineauctions.com/macallan-1961-miniature-5cl-single-malt-scotch-whisky.html

Do you have any estimation what could be the price today?
How is the price influenced by the fact the original tube is missing?

Thank you very much!

A more recent auction is this from May 2015 where a bottle fetched £320

Miniatures can be very unpredictable at auction and not having the tube will certainly impact the value. Also with the Macallan being such a target for fakers and whisky miniatures often being easier to fake, buyers would be wary of buying this in a private sale which would impact the amount you may get for this. Probably best to submit the bottle to a reputable online whisky auction to achieve the best price for it.

Considering it has no tube, I would say the 200 euros you have been offered in a private sale could be considered reasonable.
