I just noticed a new whisky on offer at my local Co-op for £20 called Glen Keith Distillery Edition.
I'd never hard of it before, but Wikipedia says that it is owned by Chivas Brothers and "The Glen Keith distillery was mothballed in 1999. Extensive reconstruction work began in 2012 and the distillery was reopened in June 2013."
The whisky is NAS, so I'm guessing that they've mixed some very young whisky (3 or 4 years old from the 2013 re-opening) with some older whisky (16 plus years from before the distillery was mothballed). Obviously, it could be just the young stuff, but I would have thought that such a young whisky might be a bit harsh.
Has anyone tried it? |

| I wouldn't be surprised if it is just a 3 to 4 year old whisky, I doubt that they would throw in some 18 year old plus whisky from pre 1999 into a £20 whisky to increase its drinkability, and they would soon run out of 18+ year old maintain the new core range Glen Keith Distillery Edition bottling, but you never know, still good to see a release from the distillery and hopefully more to come. |

| The only one I have tried was the 17 year old cask strength as part of the distillery reserve collection. I enjoyed it very much. Interested to give this one a shot |
