Saw this story on the BBC:

Almost 16,000 bottles of whisky and gin smuggled into the UK via a port in Suffolk will be poured away, the UK Border Agency said.

Officers at Felixstowe docks seized the 15,840 bottles of spirits that arrived from Spain, on 27 August.

The agency said the bottles could have been destined for an unauthorised warehouse and would have evaded excise duty to the tune of £136,000.

No arrests have yet been made and investigations are continuing.

Deputy regional director of the UK Border Agency Jim Jarvie said: "This was an excellent detection.

"We will continue to work hard to tackle criminals out to make a profit by cheating British taxpayers and undercutting honest local traders."

Now i hope none of these bottles are single malts. Very Happy
