The Cotswolds distillery have launched their first ever single malt whisky, the limited edition Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky Inaugural Release.
An outstanding young whisky with a lovely first fill bourbon influence combining well with some delicious fruit from the ex-red wine cask. Of course there is still a sign of youth, just the slightest feintiness with the first couple of mouthfuls which quickly fades and lets the quality and character of the young whisky and the casks it matured in shine.
Time will tell just how good the Cotswolds whisky will get but at 3 years old things are looking very promising for this new English single malt whisky.

| William I had noticed that the Cotswolds whisky had been getting some good reviews, with Jim Murray scoring a Cotswold whisky matured in similar casks as the whisky you reviewed at 94/100 which was a little hard to believe for a 3 year old. Your review and score appears realistic in comparison. |

| Perhaps a touch of over enthusiastic patriotism from Jim Murray over a new English single malt although still a good indication that they have produced a decent whisky at the Cotswolds distillery. Williams score of 83/100 does sound more realistic for a very good whisky of this age, I will have to seek out some to try it myself. |

| Cheers William for the review, I have a friend who comes from the Cotswolds area although he isn't much of a whisky drinker or any alcohol drinker, knowing my passion for a good whisky he was very enthusiastic about telling there was going to be a Cotswolds whisky, it sounds like it is worth a try even at this young age, I will try to get hold of some and offer my friend a drink of it. |

| Got a bottle myself yesterday. Is colouring added, do we know? No mention of natural colour on the packaging unless I've missed it. Does say UCF though.. |

It's no added colour. They want to do things properly. On a related note, the Lakes Distillery's first batch of whisky should be ready soon, will be interesting to see how that is coming on too.
From what I understand, all the new english distillerys are producing a very high quality product - they have to - they're brand new and can't rely on the name of their geographic location. |

I was incorrect! Just had another look and it does indeed say natural colour. Don't know how I missed it. |
