I read the same - no reason to doubt the article I read.

If anyone wants some now, my local corner shop has quite a few bottles. I need to go double check the price but it's certainly under £40. Had been meaning to post.

The Glenlivet 12 will certainly be welcomed back, it will be interesting to see if they use its little vacation to reposition its price while they established the NAS Glenlivet Founders Reserve into its price position.

All we need now is a return of the Glenlivet Nadurra 16 year old.

I hope they don't shoot themselves in the foot and price it at £40

I bet they'll reposition it at a higher price point now.

I went back to check my local shop and they have it at £40. They have three different colours of packaging on the shelf though - some in a silver box, some in a green box and one in a kind of cream coloured box. Are some of those older bottlings? Anyone know a packaging history of the Glenlivet 12?

Yes sounds like old packaging to me, Chivas Brothers had/have a tendency to quite often change the packaging of there big selling malts such as the Glenlivet, sometimes they bring out limited edition packaging around the Christmas period to attract sales. A lot of malt whisky is bought by gift buyers partly based on the look of the packaging and the whisky companies know this.

If it is the packaging I am thinking of then the cream box is the oldest and the silver the newest packaging.

Cheers. I definitely recognised the silver (that was the colour when I last had a bottle) and green looked familiar. Their cream coloured one could have been sitting there a good while though, I guess.

I've long watched a lone bottle of Linkwood 12 that they have on the shelf too. Sadly it's up at £60, so I'm totally unsurprised that they've never sold it in years around here. Perhaps I should make them some offers...

My local Costco has half a pallet of the 12 yo for $30 per 750 ml, that's the normal price at
Total Wine & More. I think the Founders Reserve is $28. Sadly we usually only get the mainstream expressions.

The they got rid of it back at home to maintain supplies in the US as it’s really popular there. That’s why we got the Founders Reserve 🙁
