BenRiach Distillery today released Batch 14 of its popular single cask bottlings. Notably the BenRiach Batch 14 is a smaller and younger but no less interesting outturn of 7 whiskies, 5 peated and 2 unpeated single malts, each of which have been fully matured in a single cask, no cask finishes in this batch. With the youngest in this release being 9 year old and the oldest 12 year old, this should make it more accessible to whisky drinkers regards the price.

All bloody young - filled only casks after Billy Walker & Co. acquisition. Will probably get only 12yo first fill Oloroso butt.

Hope that next SC Batch from Glendronach isn’t going in the same direction…

Hopefully they have a price to reflect their age, if so and they turn out to be good it will be a very welcome release for me.

That 12yo peated first fill port pipe and the 9yo peated first fill Marsala sound amazing

I will certainly welcome a few at the cheaper end of the price scale, the 3 First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt whiskies appeal to me.

If they're affordable this is good news - I have no interest in 20+ year-old casks that cost hundreds of pounds. No matter how good they are, it's not a price I'm ever prepared to pay for a bottle of whisky.

Nothing against young age (some of my best 1st fill sherry malts are younger than 8yo) but they should offer something more diverse than the batch in the range between 9 to 12 yo.

Agreed - a good selection of both young and old whiskies would keep most people happy.

Price seems reasonable for SC: £59.00 for 9yo to £69.00 for 12yo.

Not heard too much about these since the release. Did anyone go for (m)any of them? I saw your first review go up sorren, how long do you think the full series will take you? Curious to hear more.

Just wrote the Virgin oak and both casks from 2007, the Virgin oak right up my street.. one of the better ones I’ve had.. the two from 2007 are good but the 105 was my preferred cask.. should have others done within next week or so..

I've been working my way through the 12 year port cask and it is divine. Picked up a couple more!
