Inchmoan 12 year old is a new peated single malt whisky from the Loch Lomond distillery's Island Collection of single malts.
A lovely gently peated single malt with a nice touch of pepper and a little fruitiness to add to the pleasure.

| Looks interesting, and a reasonably fair price, though on the high end of what I'd pay for this kind of whisky. Do you think Loch Lomond has finally shed its reputation as a jack of all trades, master of none kind of distillery? |

| It does sound interesting, I have had a couple of Loch Lomonds offerings lately and they have been decent drams for your money, the Loch Lomond 12 is pretty good and the Single Grain is more like a malt whisky. |

Alexppp there is some cracking stuff coming out of Loch Lomond these day, their core range NAS Loch Lomond single malt has vastly improved on what it was 10 years ago, it is a step up from a standard blend but will never be an award winner unless they start adding some more mature whisky to the mix, however the Loch Lomond 12 is a deliciously sweet fruity malt with just a touch of gentle spice and fantastic value for money.
The Inchmurrin range is good for the price all except the Inchmurrin Madeira Wood Finish, I have sampled this a few times but was never impressed enough to pay the asking price, some poor casks at work with this one.
The Loch Lomond Single Grain as Andy M says is more like a malt whisky, tasted blind I think most knowledgeable whisky drinkers would swear that it is a single malt. There is a good reason for this, it is produced using malted barley but in a Coffey still. Quite a unique dram and good value for money.
The new peated Inchmoan whiskies are another great addition to Loch Lomond's range, _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| I haven't seen Loch Lomond whiskies here, hopefully we see them in the future. The Inchmoan peaty whiskies appeal to me and the Loch Lomond Single Grain sounds very interesting |
