Douglas Laing Announce New Distillery In Glasgow

Glasgow based independent bottler Douglas Laing has unveiled their plans to build a yet to be named £10.7 million malt whisky distillery and bottling complex on the banks of the river Clyde in Glasgow.

It will be across the other side of the Clyde from the new Clydeside distillery which should be opening this year. I believe Clydeside is the same as the new Douglas Laing distillery, they aim to create a more Speyside style of malt.

Good to see another distillery in Glasgow and hopefully they will produce a good whisky and not just an easy drinking crowd pleaser for the tourists.
