I am not very very experienced in whiskies but I have some knowledge, and yesterday I bought myself a bottle of JW DB. I had a really great time sipping this and was actualy amazed by it, given its very negative reviews on various blogs and videos. I enjoyed its deep and intense smokey/peat character and was brave enough to compare it to some single malts. For me, its a very premium blend both in taste and price (😂), and actualy liked more that Black label, which unfortunately I do not own but have tried it numerous times in bars.
Have you guys tried it? What did you think about it? _________________ “There is no bad whiskey. There are only some whiskeys that aren’t as good as others.†|

| Wow your brave to put this out there hehehe, but hey here's my thoughts as you started it, I totally enjoyed it to be honest, the smoke is there but it's well balanced by some good fruit notes that I also got in the 12, I think the price is too high but I never buy it at £40 and wait for it's £28 price tag which I believe it's been that in asda for a good month. |

Hello and thanks for the reply! Well, I would never ever pay 40£ for a blend... I currently live in Greece and bought my DB for around 30£ which I found justifiable. I may even buy a second bottle!
Any ideas on what malts are in there? _________________ “There is no bad whiskey. There are only some whiskeys that aren’t as good as others.†|

| Personally I think the Johnnie Walker 12 Black Label and Double Black are superb blends for you money, I always pick up some when I see it on offer. I believe Diageo's Talisker and Caol Ila distilleries make a contribution to both of these amongst many offer single malts and probably North British grain. |
